Mr Justice Warby in Stocker v Stocker [2015] EWHC 1634 at paragraph 63:

“Witness statements are meant to be in the witness’s own words, and an assistant solicitor should be able to do the majority of the work”

  1. I would have thought that the more significant dictum in this judgment is to be found at para 57: ‘I readily acknowledge the importance of ensuring that the costs budgeting process does not result in a party being unable to recover the costs necessary to assert their rights.’
